Ahhh, Red River

We made it! Late, but grinning from ear to ear at the cozy feel of the cabin from KT and Erics hard work. *happy sigh*

I can’t wait to see Creed, Bonnie and Claire tomorrow!

The girls and I are off to bed with Ember happily exploring. G’night!

Funny words

Mocron retrol = remote control (Sammie)

Cylerinder = cylinder (Ellie)

Infinium = infinity (both)

Very cool rock outcropping

Since I’m running out of time, here is a quick wrap up…. We camped in some random location (can’t wait to download those photos, too!) and searched for more rocks including petrified wood. it was a gorgeous location and the girls ROCKED it. They made a wonderfully fragrant Om Fire for us, we had dinner and they passed out SO fast in their very own tent. Yay for them!

Then we headed to Ouray to soak the sand and dust out and felt mighty refreshed before we headed back home to a far less snowy CB than we’d left.

Iron in the rocks

These holes were natural and were the perfect size for little feet to climb on.

The girls made an Om Fire that smelled heavenly! (Sage.)

Collecting for the Om Fire

A little construction in front of the flat we were staying in! Yes, that was our white door. LOL!

Wild West Dinner

Relaxing in the private pool in Ouray

Ahhhh

Home again, home again. To a LOT less snow. Yay!

it was a wonderful vacation! (Although I may vote for a less sandy place next time.)

Checking out the Monitor and the Merrimac headed out of Moab

After heading out of Moab, we decided to see Dead Horse Point. I can’t wait to edit my photos as this does it no justice! It was so incredible and shocking to see that little sliver of land 90 feet wide with that huge piece of land surrounded by this. Incredible!

Dead Horse Point - this does it NO justice!

Our next stop was rock hounding. Chris had found out about a GREAT area for this, but it took us HOURS to find it and by then, we were tired and ready to just look and then sleep. So we found a ton of agate, jasper, quartz crystal and others we couldn’t identify and then we headed out to look for a camping spot. Which we couldn’t find.

Rock hounding! We found TONS of agate here!

A huge hunk of agate. Gorgeous!

So we went to the Super 8! LOL! Kinda lame, but frankly, it felt good to shower after being so dusty all day. And the girls had a blast, too, so it was all good.

We've been caught!

We headed back out past the place we were before and set up a sun shade with the intention of camping there – or somewhere close.

What is wrong with my neck?!? At least my cutie is there to make me look good!

On to Ouray

After having my post eaten by WordPress, this’ll be a quick one. We are off to Ouray to soak the sand from our pores before we go home tomorrow. I’ll try to blog tonight.
:)

Todays plans

Today we are off to Dead Horse Point then off to camp somewhere. Not sure we will have connection so I’ll update when I can!

Here is spring for you.

Wed got late so we ended up finding a place to go mountain biking and rock hounding. We had planned on seeing Dead Horse Park, but were too late. (That’s first on our agenda today. )

The biking rocked!! The rock finding was cool. And we had a great day!

Mostly pictures. I think the speak for themselves.

We went for 3 hikes totalling about 4-5 miles and the girls were amazing!!

Yummy lunch!

After breakfast, Ellie declared it “sister time” and hung and loved on her sister. It was pretty awesome.

Then we found a place with amazing lunch called Eclectica and I had some curried rice with chicken satay. Mmmmm! The people who ran it were really wonderful. They recommended great food and then let the girls feed their koi.

I highly recommend the place if you get here!

(Below is Ellie looking at daddy’s bump on his noggin. )

Good morning!

What a gorgeous day! Very little wind, bluish skies (we expect some rain), cooler. Just beautiful.

Chris swept out half the sand. I was shocked at how much there was. Ellie turned into a teen briefly. And pancakes were had by all. Although the hemp milk almost exploded on contact….

No clue what the plans are, but we will have a great time!
